Traffic congestion is one of the main obstacles to economic development in deve­loping economies, generating serious social and economic impacts. The aggravation of trade in commercial and urban areas is more stimulating than destructive barriers. The objective of this research is to better understand the social and economic effects of vehicular congestion on roads in the province of Santa Elena.
