Mecanismos Moleculares Reguladores da Embriogênese do Tubo Digestivo

Resumo:

O endoderma origina uma vasta rede de tipos celulares epiteliais altamente especializados que compõem os sistemas respiratório e digestório, e contribui para a formação de órgãos associados, tais como: tireóide, timo, pulmões, fígado, sistema biliar e pâncreas. Perturbações nas funções dos órgãos de origem endodermal são a causa de numerosas doenças humanas. Pesquisas básicas, que visam entender a formação dos órgãos endodermais, tem fornecido o entendimento da base genética de muitas doenças congênitas humanas, e a pesquisa continuada, provavelmente tornará possível o crescimento de tecidos de órgãos endodermais in vitro para futuras terapias baseadas em transplantes (Spence e Wells, 2007; Zorn e Wells, 2009).
