A interface entre prosódia e discurso no inglês como língua estrangeira

Resumo:
Neste capítulo, discutimos dados da língua inglesa sobre arelação entre prosódia e discurso a fim de oferecermos uma discussãointrodutória a essa área da linguística no âmbito de uma língua estrangeira.Para tanto, iniciamos por uma discussão que tem como objetivo localizar aprosódia em um contexto linguístico maior. A decisão por esse caminho, isto é,o de enquadrarmos a prosódia no estudo geral da gramática, se deve aoentendimento de que poucos materiais direcionados ao ensino de gramática delíngua estrangeira fazem referência a aspectos prosódicos como parte integrantede construções gramaticais. Posterior a isso, o capítulo propõe uma discussãodas relações gerais entre prosódia e discurso antes de embarcar em uma análisemais pormenorizada de dados da língua inglesa sobre proeminência prosódica.
